The Central Consumer Protection Authority has imposed a ₹1 lakh penalty on Amazon Seller Services Private Limited for allowing ordinary sweets to be sold as “Shri Ram Mandir Ayodhya Prasad” without approval from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
Ordinary sweets were being sold online under the guise of Ram Mandir Prasad. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh on Amazon.
