CBI arrests West Central Railway Engineer for accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a senior official of the West Central Railway for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a contractor in exchange for processing payments and releasing dues related to contract work, an official statement said on Friday.
The Jabalpur CBI team, in a major operation in Sagar late Thursday night, arrested a railway section engineer red-handed while accepting a bribe of 100,000 rupees. The accused has been identified as Narayan Singh Bundela. Following the action, the CBI team brought the accused to Jabalpur, where he was produced before the CBI court on Friday.
