Saturday at Tom Forni Cavemen Corral in Carlsbad, the Cavemen overcame an early Las Cruces Organ Mountain lead and defeated the Knights 4-3 in the second game of a best-three opening round baseball playoff series. Evan Ortiz picked up the win for Carlsbad, who is the No. 6 seed in the tournament. Carlsbad travels to Albuquerque Thursday for a 5A quarterfinal game against No. 3 seed Albuquerque La Cueva.
