Young people making their confirmation pledge in the Catholic Church will now have to vow to abstain from vaping and smoking.

New addiction now included in Confirmation abstinence pledge

An updated Confirmation pledge for 12 and 13-year-olds will now explicitly reference vaping and cigarette smoking, alongside alcohol and illegal drugs. The change was made in a move aimed at tackling rising addiction concerns among young people.
