Manuel Castro Almeida says that the first measure to bring down fuel prices is in the hands of the Portuguese conscience and passes through the cut in consumption. The minister of the economy dedramatizes the warnings of the transport sector for the needs of more measures and warns that the correct accounts cannot be called into question.
In statements to journalists on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Union (EU) economic ministers in Brussels, Manuel Castro Almeida stressed that there is currently a serious problem with energy prices around the world, and, as always, the higher the demand, prices tend to rise, if demand declines, prices tend to fall.
Faced with the fact that there are people who have no alternative to using fuels, the minister replied: "We are all realistic."
The minister of the economy insisted today that Portuguese families and companies must "do everything" to save fuels, considering that, nowadays, it is the only way to achieve lower prices.
