Customs duties: stock markets are still plunging, Trump assures that he will never "change policy"

All European Stock Exchanges are plunged into the wake of China's response to US customs duties, with Beijing paying 34% taxes on US products as early as April 10. The Paris Stock Exchange has erased all its gains since the beginning of the year.

Not a few of the US President's team want to put China's containment at the heart of American foreign policy, but Trump's choice remains open.

With its rigid trade policy, Trump not only meets the great rival in Beijing. US allies such as Japan and South Korea also have to pay – and turn to China.

Washington announced an additional 34% customs duty on products imported from China on Wednesday, April 2.

Donald Trump announced this Wednesday, April 2, the introduction of tariffs on all American imports. The US President presented a list of the countries concerned and the different rates that they would have to pay.

On Wednesday, the U.S. President unveiled a new wave of tariffs against its trading partners. Measures considered an escalation in the battle waged by the U.S. since January.
