‘Carrie’ Seeks Friends in First Teaser for Mike Flanagan’s Stephen King Series for Prime Video
The eight-episode series updates Carrie’s bullying story with a mean Instagram account as it heads to Prime Video.

- The Stephen King protagonist has been reimagined several times, including Brian De Palma's 1976 film, the 2002 TV movie, and the 2013 film starring Chlo Grace Moretz, following King's 1974 debut novel.
- Flanagan cast Summer H. Howell as Carrie White and Samantha Sloyan as her fanatical mother, Margaret. The director noted that bullying has evolved in the 50 years since the novel was written.
- Regarding the prom sequence, director Flanagan insisted viewers don't know what happens, calling it "the most complex scene I have ever, ever filmed" and a showstopper.
- Flanagan's eight-episode Carrie series premieres on Prime Video October 7, with the director expressing excitement that "the biggest thing I'm excited about today is just knowing what a big surprise" it will be.
