Carney nearly begged premiers to put U.S. booze back on shelves to secure deal: Kinew
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew wished Canada had pushed harder against the U.S. in trade talks but understood Prime Minister Mark Carney's efforts to finalize a deal by putting U.S. alcohol back on shelves.
Prime Minister Mark Carney updated premiers on a deal with the U.S. to stop new tariffs and address longstanding issues in steel, forestry, and autos industries.
Carney told premiers there would be no deal without agreeing to return U.S. alcohol to shelves.
