Carleton Place’s Parrot Partners Canada: Tackling a growing crisis in parrot welfare

In Canada, a silent crisis is unfolding involving the longest-lived companion animal: the parrot. To address the growing emergency, Parrot Partners Canada launched the Parrot Safety Net Pilot — the first of its kind — on Dec. 30, 2025. It is a three-year initiative designed to test whether parrots can be kept stable, supported and safe before collapse takes over.
