Card payments and Swift card exchange boost international exchange rates
According to the National Finance Authority (NFA)'s latest report for the fourth quarter of 2024, Bhutan's international payment system is busy with an increase in the exchange rate and a slight decline in the average payment rate. Ordinary cash transactions were made through Swift, the international payment system, with international cards rising 61.9% to 73,720, with a volume of 76.38% of total cash transactions representing $36 billion.
