4 Killed in Fiery Chain-Reaction Crash on 605 Freeway in Norwalk; DUI Suspect Arrested
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS, JUL 18 – A high-speed stolen car crash on Interstate 35 caused four deaths and injured more than 20, including children and seniors, police said. Several suspects fled the scene.
- Around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, a stolen white Chevrolet Camaro struck a tour bus on Interstate 35 in San Antonio, causing four deaths and injuring at least 21, police said.
- Authorities say the stolen Camaro, carrying a baby, was taken from Pine Grove Avenue and Hancock Street Thursday night, with police said the pursuit reached speeds of more than 100 mph.
- San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said four suspects fled the Camaro on foot, one reportedly armed with an AK-style rifle, as the bus rolled onto its side after a collision with a trailer and tractor-trailer.
- San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said children and older adults were among the injured, fire officials said they transported 21 people to hospitals, and a baby in the back seat survived unharmed.
