The captain of the purple team joined the club in March 2020, and after signing the contract, he will remain in Maribor at least until the end of the 2026/27 season. Maribor captain Ažbe Jug has extended his contract with the club for another year. The 33-year-old goalkeeper will be a member of the purple team until the end of the 2026/27 season.
