Prosecutor’s Office CDMX analyzes reclassifying the murder of Paola Buenrostro as transfemicide, following protests by trans-groups
The Office of the Prosecutor of the CDMX does not rule out reclassifying to femicide the case of Paola Buenostro, the young trans murdered in 2016 and whose alleged killer is already facing criminal proceedings.
The authority explained that the arrest warrant was obtained in 2016, when the assumptions to criminalize that crime were more limited and the figure of transfemicide did not yet exist.
Following Tuesday's protests in the Public Prosecutor's Office, the institution said that no attacks on public servants or damage to the facilities can be justified.
