French IT Giant Capgemini Sells Subsidiary After Row over ICE Links

Capgemini said the deal will close in coming weeks after lawmakers pressed for answers over a contract to track foreign nationals.

  • On Saturday, Capgemini announced an agreement to sell its United States subsidiary, Capgemini Government Solutions, to ITC Federal. The group said the transaction is "expected to be completed in the coming weeks."
  • The decision follows controversy over a contract with ICE to provide tools for tracking foreign nationals. The agency, Donald Trump's immigration police force, has faced fierce criticism across the United States for violent intervention methods.
  • Criticism intensified after the shooting deaths of two United States citizens in Minneapolis earlier this year. Capgemini reported the subsidiary represented only 0.4% of global turnover and less than 2% of its United States revenue.
  • French Economy and Finance Minister Roland Lescure previously demanded clarity on the company's United States activities. Capgemini argued that legal constraints prevented "proper control over certain aspects of this subsidiary's operations."
  • Capgemini, which generated 22.5 billion euros in 2025, operates in around fifty countries. The sale allows the company to resolve federal contracting conflicts while continuing global operations.
