MONTREAL, CANADA, AUG 8 – At 18, Mboko became the third Canadian to win the National Bank Open in the open era, defeating former Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in three sets.
- Teenager Victoria Mboko won her first WTA Tour title by defeating Naomi Osaka 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 at the Canadian Open final in Montreal on August 7, 2025.
- Mboko entered the tournament ranked 85th after rising from outside the top 300 earlier this year, while Osaka made her return following a 15-month maternity break since July 2023 and had not secured a tour-level championship since winning the Australian Open in 2021.
