NASA Assigns Astronaut Deniz Burnham to First Space Station Mission
HarperCollins Canada says Earthrise will recount the nine-day mission, Hansen’s training and the crew’s journey more than 406,000 kilometres from Earth.
Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen is publishing a memoir this fall titled 'Earthrise: A Canadian Astronaut's Journey Into Deep Space,' set for October 27 release by HarperCollins Canada.
Hansen made history earlier this year as the first Canadian to travel into deep space during the Artemis mission, taking the four-person crew farther from Earth than any humans in more than 50 years.
Calgary-Based writer John Larsen authored the book after conducting extensive interviews with Hansen; HarperCollins Canada describes it as a 'dramatic, intimate account' of his years of training.
The book covers Hansen's 32 years of military service and his tenure at the CSA, documenting his career before his retirement from the agency earlier this year.
Beyond the training process, the book explores the mission's broader significance as a symbol of personal achievement, chronicling the journey that launched Hansen into deep space.
Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency (ESA) has been selected to participate in the Artemis III mission, designed as a test mission of the AME program
