Canadian activist held in Burundi prison – with no court date or lawyer

Fredrick Wangabo Mwenengabo, a Congolese-Canadian human rights activist from Fredericton, has been imprisoned in Mpinmba Central Prison, in Bujumbura, Burundi, since May 2025, according to Mew Brunswick Green party Leader David Coon and Mwenengabo’s son, Simon Chinamula.
