Parks Canada Visits Increased by 10 per Cent with Canada Strong Pass, Ottawa Says
The Canada Strong Pass increased attendance by 15% at national museums and boosted VIA Rail bookings over 50,000, supporting tourism and local economies nationwide.
- On Sept. 2, 2025 the Canada Strong Pass concluded after running from June 20, offering free museum admission to children 17 and under and a 50 per cent discount for youth aged 18 to 24; VIA Rail Canada recorded more than 50,000 bookings using the pass.
- Designed with Parks Canada and Canadian Heritage, the initiative aimed to reconnect Canadians and support regional economies through more than 200 Parks Canada sites nationwide.
- Mid-Summer results showed an average 15-percent increase in attendance across national museums and early indications suggest visits to Parks Canada places rose 10 percent since June.
- By boosting visitation, the pass helped strengthen Canadian tourism this summer, VIA Rail Canada reported it made travel more affordable, aiding youth rail travel and giving children new opportunities to explore Canada.
- Officials say the pass will have left a lasting impression, making this a summer to remember, while Canadian Heritage will compile final results from participating partners in the coming weeks.
