Canada Pledges $100M for Palestinians Facing Settler Violence, Humanitarian Crisis
The money will support medical aid, food and water, and peace efforts, bringing Canada’s total support for Palestinians to $500 million since late 2023.
Canada's Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand announced $100 million in federal funding to aid Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The funding was revealed during a meeting in Paris where western leaders discussed challenges to a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Funds will be distributed to United Nations agencies, the Red Cross, and others to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and violence by extremist Israeli settlers in the West Bank.
This new funding raises Canada's total support for Palestinians to $500 million since late 2023 and will cover medical assistance, food, water, and peace initiatives.
