Cambridge biotech will invest $250M in Mass. production facility, add jobs

Gov. Maura Healey is expected to be in Norton Wednesday morning to announce some good news: a $250 million expansion of a manufacturing plant run by Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded biotech company. The expansion will add an as-yet-unspecified number of jobs, said Timothy Maines, Alnylam’s chief technical operations and quality officer, and enable the company to produce drugs at much higher volumes than it can today.
