‘Call the Midwife’ Season 15 Finale Will Bring Major Endings and a Surprise Return
The finale closes Nonnatus House and sends the series on hiatus before Season 16, with a former cast member returning in a cameo.
The Season 15 Finale of Call the Midwife airs on PBS on Sunday, marking the closure of Nonnatus House and the start of a series hiatus for the British drama.
Set in 1971 London, the final episodes focus on the Poplar community as 90-year-old Sister Monica Joan, played by Judy Parfitt, prepares for the future after stopping her medication.
Expectant parents Rosalind and Cyril prepare to marry, while the Mullucks family—including Parents Bernie and Rhoda, daughter Susan, and college-student Belinda—navigate their complex future.
"There's a lot of endings," says Rebecca Gethings, who has played Sister Veronica for four seasons, noting major storylines are drawing to a close in this emotional episode.
Showrunner Heidi Thomas notes, "Love isn't just the best medicine, it is medicine," as the series prepares for a holiday prequel, Sisters in Arms, set during World War II, plus a film in development.
