In another unprecedented move, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is changing double XP tokens so they count down in match and not real-time
Just days after announcing a silly skin off toggle for Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision has returned to share some even better news for Modern Warfare 4. At launch and beyond, double XP tokens will count down only when you're actively in a match, not in real-world time.
The official calculations of the game on Twitter announced that code timers would now be calculated based on time within the game, rather than starting the countdown immediately upon activation. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the Double XP Tokens will only count during matches from launch day onwards. This resolves the issue of time being wasted in the pre-match lobby. Activision announced this on their official X Channel and confirmed that existing tokens can be used in MW4.
