California Pizza Kitchen to Deploy 1K Automated Kiosks by 2029

The kiosks will use Turbo-chef equipment to cook restaurant-quality pizzas in about 90 seconds, CPK said.

  • California Pizza Kitchen announced Friday plans to deploy up to 1,000 automated pizza-making kiosks across 30 major U.S. markets over the next three years through a partnership with T-ROC Global.
  • The initiative aims to reverse a years-long decline in restaurant locations; CPK has lost restaurants consistently since 2021, dropping from 167 total locations to 121 by early 2026, per its FDDs.
  • Touch-Screen kiosks use TurboChef equipment and "data-driven intelligence" to cook 7-inch pizzas in about 90 seconds, expanding on existing machines already operating at airports including Boston Logan and Atlanta.
  • Brett Beveridge, CEO of T-ROC Global, said the partnership combines CPK's brand with T-ROC's nationwide infrastructure to "build a new national distribution channel at a meaningful scale."
  • Early deployments target high-traffic venues including universities, hotels, and sports venues, with 15 additional machines planned for several universities by the end of the year.
