Voter ID Requirements Could Be Headed to the California Ballot

Supporters submitted 1.3 million signatures, exceeding the 875,000 needed to require voter ID and proof of citizenship for California ballots, amid debates on election integrity and voter suppression.

“We’ve structured this initiative based on what voters across the political spectrum would want,” said Assemblymember Carl DeMaio.
