Cairdio Emerges as Healthcare Clinical Guardian Following Successful Showcase at Lone Star HealthTech AI Summit 2026

HealthSeers, Inc. is collaborating with Rice University's Rice Nexus to deploy the AI-powered Cairdio platform, designed to detect Rheumatic Heart Disease in children while progressing through the FDA clearance process.
Founder Rick Jones created Cairdio to address the 'Auscultation Gap,' where millions of children go undiagnosed due to placement errors; the device utilizes a 4-head design to capture all cardiac auscultation points simultaneously.
Sanjoy Paul, PhD, Executive Director of Rice Nexus, developed the AI algorithm to detect RHD in resource-limited settings. "It was simply too difficult for non-clinicians to consistently position," Paul said, noting the platform requires no specialized training.
Nurses, teachers, and rural health workers can conduct cardiac risk assessments in settings ranging from established clinics to remote villages, following the platform's debut at the Lone Star HealthTech on February 27, 2026.
"My goal was to build a clinical guardian that ensures no child's heart condition goes unheard," Jones said. A secure database enables continuous AI model training, allowing the technology to adapt to various pathologies and demographics globally.
