- Tragically, Lieutenant Colonel Shah died from his injuries, while Ancheta and other cadets received Purple Hearts and meritorious service medals for stopping the gunman and performing emergency first aid.
- Safety concerns at Constant Hall resurfaced in a dispute between the ODU Faculty Senate and President Brian Hemphill, with the Board of Visitors rebuking the Senate for citing a 2024 email warning about security vulnerabilities.
