SHREVEPORT, La. - The Caddo Parish Commission voted Thursday to ratify a special resolution welcoming U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders to Shreveport for his Fighting Oligarchy Tour.

The Caddo Parish Commission voted Thursday to "ratify" a resolution already presented to Sen. Bernie Sanders before any commissioners saw or voted on it. The matter has drawn the ire of local Republicans, as well as the state Attorney General who has opened an investigation into the potential violation of open meeting laws.
