Plan to Start Holiday Flights From Lelystad Airport on Hold: 'No Political Support Yet'
The Lelystad Airport dossier continues to weigh heavily on the cabinet's stomach. Although Defence has now laid a claim on the still unopened airport to be able to park F-35s there, the discussion is still simmering. Minister Madlener (Infrastructure) has to get to work to arrange support for the 10,000 civil flights desired by him, Schiphol and the province of Flevoland.
Cabinet Has Not yet Made a Decision on Holiday Flights to Lelystad
The cabinet has not yet made a decision on allowing holiday flights from Lelystad Airport. Prime Minister Dick Schoof said this after the cabinet meeting. He expects this to happen soon. However, the cabinet does want to station F-35 fighter jets at Lelystad.
