BYU's AJ Dybantsa, Duke's Cameron Boozer, UNC's Caleb Wilson Headline Forwards in NBA Draft
The projected No. 1 pick is drawing interest from both teams as they weigh fit and draft-night options, according to ESPN and The Athletic.
On Wednesday, former BYU star AJ Dybantsa expressed confidence he will be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, though he acknowledged uncertainty surrounding the event at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 23.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that Ace Dybantsa, the prospect's father, shared a photograph featuring both Washington Wizards and Utah Jazz T-shirts, signaling strong interest from both franchises.
The Utah Jazz are "genuinely torn" between Dybantsa, national collegiate player of the year Cameron Boozer, and Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, who has limited pre-draft workouts exclusively to the Wizards.
"You never want to just be too stuck on just on going to visit one team," Dybantsa explained, emphasizing that visiting various organizations allows prospects to better evaluate franchise offerings.
Washington's front office plans to delay their final decision until just before the draft begins, while Utah must make an immediate choice once officially on the clock.
