Bus Crashes and Catches Fire in Western Turkey, Killing 8 People, Including an Infant
A bus owned by Pamukkale Tourism carrying 38 passengers and three staff crashed into highway barriers in Denizli province, western Turkey, at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday.
The bus caught fire after the crash, resulting in eight fatalities including a 9-month-old infant, the infant's father, and the 50-year-old driver.
Approximately 33 people were injured in the incident.
The crash occurred on the final day of Eid al-Adha, a festival that often sees increased traffic accidents in Turkey due to holiday travel.
