Miller County issues burn ban as extreme dry conditions raise fire risks

TEXARKANA, Ark. - The Miller County Office of Emergency Management has issued a burn ban due to extremely dry weather conditions across the area.

Navarro County under burn ban

A 90 day burn ban was issued Monday, July 27, by the Navarro County Commissioners Court due to “current dry conditions and an increased risk of wildfires.”

Burn ban goes into effect Wednesday

Five inches of rain delayed county burn ban considerations several weeks ago. With conditions having changed, such is no longer the case, Johnson County Emergency Management Director Jamie Moore said.
