Burkina Faso's army, its civilian auxiliaries and jihadist groups have killed more than 1,800 civilians since 2023 in acts that constitute "war crimes and crimes against humanity", Human Rights Watch said in a report published on Thursday.
The government of Burkina Faso has today rejected a report by the human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) which accuses the Burkinese army of killing the good of civilians than the Jihadists since 2023.
The government of Burkina Faso is in error following statements in a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report covering the period 2023-2025. In a press release, Ouagadougou denounces a "false report", a "towel" and a "tissue of conjectures." The executive claims to have read this document through the press, without having been asked in advance.
