Buffalo Bills sign former Chiefs edge rusher Mike Danna to one-year contract
Danna adds 21 1/2 career sacks and a backup outside linebacker option as Buffalo shifts to a 3-4 defense.
On Monday, the Buffalo Bills signed free agent linebacker Mike Danna to a one-year contract, filling a key depth role on their new-look defense.
Buffalo is implementing a 3-4 defensive scheme under new head coach Joe Brady and coordinator Jim Leonhard, requiring experienced rotational players like Danna.
The 29-year-old Danna, a two-time Super Bowl winner, spent six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, recording 21.5 sacks and 194 tackles.
He joins a revamped pass-rush group featuring defensive ends Bradley Chubb and Greg Rousseau, while Buffalo released cornerback MJ Devonshire in a corresponding move.
Buffalo recorded just 36 sacks last year, ranking 20th in the league, prompting the team to bolster its pass rush by also drafting edge-rusher T.J. Parker.
