Tampa Bay Buccaneers Bring Back Iconic Jersey Not Seen in 5 Decades
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLORIDA, JUL 15 – The Buccaneers will wear their original 1976 all-white throwback uniforms with Bucco Bruce helmets in multiple games, marking the first time the team has two throwback games in one season.
- To mark their 50th season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will don their original 1976 Creamsicle road uniforms featuring a commemorative patch when they host the New York Jets on September 21, 2025.
- The team reintroduced the uniform to honor its inaugural season and celebrate launching into its 50th NFL season, marking a return to the original orange, white, and red color scheme last used in 1976.
- The modernized jerseys feature orange numbers outlined in red, the original pirate helmet logo, a three-stripe sleeve pattern, and a nod to the 1979 team fight song with the word "Hey!" stitched inside the collar.
- Brian Ford, COO of the Buccaneers, explained that the '76 Jersey honors the legacy of the team by recognizing the many fans and players who have contributed to its development over the years, as the franchise kicks off its 50th anniversary celebration.
