Postal Service Celebrates Bruce Lee
The Forever stamp honors Bruce Lee's legacy as a barrier-breaking martial artist and actor, featuring his iconic flying kick and designed by USPS art director Antonio Alcalá.
- On Wednesday, the U.S. Postal Service dedicated a Bruce Lee Forever stamp at a first-day-of-issue ceremony at the Nippon Kan Theater, where more than 150 people gathered.
- Ben Kuo said the stamp program honors cultural figures, with Shannon Lee describing it as the culmination of nine years of work to recognize Bruce Lee's significance.
- Designed by USPS Art Director Antonio Alcalá using a Kam Mak portrait, the stamp positions the words `BRUCE LEE`, `USA`, and `FOREVER` split by Lee's flying kick over a yellow brushstroke nod to The Game of Death.
- Ceremony attendees saw drums and four lion dancers, while some bought first-day cancellations and collectible items, with Ben Kuo revealing the stamp design during the event.
- The stamp will be sold in panes of 20 at Post Offices and online, and as a Forever stamp, it retains equal value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce price.
