It was in the late summer and winter of last year that we started covering WiFi 8 in earnest: back then there was far more information about the new standard that is not yet finalized than you might think, and now Broadcom, like so many other companies that have a tradition of selling WiFi products before the new platform is completely official, is ready to sell chipsets to partners. The standard is expected to take off in earnest in 2028.
