Broadcaster RTL Group raises 2026 revenue guidance

Streaming revenue rose 27.2% to $345 million as RTL said the Sky Deutschland acquisition lifted subscriptions and profitability.

  • On Tuesday, RTL Group raised its 2026 revenue guidance to between $8.20 billion and $8.32 billion, up significantly from its previous forecast of $6.1 billion to $6.2 billion issued in March.
  • European media conglomerate RTL Group is pivoting toward digital to compete with global platforms, integrating its acquisition of Comcast's Sky Deutschland to build a powerful streaming ecosystem across German-speaking markets.
  • First-Half streaming revenue surged 3.9% to $3.3 billion, compensating for a 4% decline in linear TV advertising and a 7.7% drop in Fremantle production operations to $964 million.
  • RTL Group CEO Clement Schwebig called the streaming transition "already far advanced," noting the company expects streaming to contribute around $115 million to operating profit this year.
  • Schwebig anticipates Fremantle revenue growth through upcoming content launches, including a "Baywatch" reboot debuting on Fox in January 2027 and the thriller "Kill Jackie" starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, launching fall 2026.
