British Jets to Get New Anti-Drone Missile Systems
The laser-guided rockets will give RAF Typhoons a cheaper way to destroy drones, with the UK saying the system can be deployed in months.
- The UK Ministry of Defence announced Royal Air Force Typhoon jets will be fitted with the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System to intercept Iranian Shahed drones more precisely and at a fraction of current missile costs.

- Defence firms BAE Systems and QinetiQ conducted trials at Aberporth earlier this year, integrating the laser-guidance system with Typhoon jets via the Engineering Delivery Partnership to deploy within months.
- 9 Squadron RAF Typhoons currently flying defensive sorties in the Middle East will receive the upgrades, which Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry Luke Pollard said "will help the RAF shoot down many more drones at a much lower cost."
- Regional demand is rising, with Qatar seeking to purchase 10,000 APKWS units from the US in recent months, while the United Arab Emirates reports intercepting more than 2,000 drones since the conflict began.
