- In the final step of its recovery, British F-35B took off from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on July 22 after over a month grounded, Indian official said.
- On June 14, the jet diverted to Thiruvananthapuram, due to adverse weather and critically low fuel, after ground checks found hydraulic and auxiliary power unit issues, Thiruvananthapuram official said.
- On Monday , expert team removed the jet from the hangar after two-week maintenance, following the arrival of a 25-member UK technical team on July 6 aboard an RAF transport, and triggered AI-generated memes on Indian social media.
- A British High Commission Spokesperson in New Delhi expressed gratitude to Indian authorities for support, and the UK incurred around ₹8 lakh in parking and ground handling charges.
- The incident underscored the depth of India-UK defence cooperation, and the aircraft will proceed to a British carrier in Darwin, Australia, official said.
