ASEAN countries are planning to import more LNG as both a bulwark against US tariffs and White House threats over imbalanced trade, but costs may be higher and more volatile than investing in renewable energy or expanding the region's power grid and, while emissions are not a calculation, they will not fall with increasing amounts of imported gas in the power grid, a webinar heard Tuesday.
