BRICS Summit: 15,000 Delhi Police personnel to be deployed for multi-layered security

- Delhi Police has implemented a multi-layered security grid for the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit, scheduled for September 12 and 13 at Bharat Mandapam, deploying 15,000 personnel and 200 companies of paramilitary forces.
- Special Commissioner of Police Manish Kumar Agrawal stated that 7,000 personnel from Delhi Police, paramilitary forces, NSG, Intelligence Bureau, and SPG will provide surveillance along key routes connecting airports, hotels, and the summit venue.
- Security will be monitored by a central control room at Tughlaq Road police station using 500 CCTV cameras covering key roads, the Aubrey Hotel, and the Taj Man Singh Hotel, where foreign guests will stay.
- Traffic restrictions will affect more than 35 major roads from September 10 until September 14, with Agrawal stating, "We have made elaborate bandobast by ensuring minimum inconvenience to the public."
- The New Delhi Municipal Council has intensified beautification efforts, displaying more than 15,000 potted plants and enhancing the BRICS Friendship Rose Garden in Chanakyapuri to improve the city's appearance.
