Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant among 32 Ministers inducted into new Bihar Cabinet
Authorities have deployed nearly 3,000 police personnel and other security teams as the NDA finalizes about 36 ministerial posts.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the cabinet expansion ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where Nishant Kumar and 30 others joined the Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary-led government in Bihar.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government formed last month after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar resigned to join the Rajya Sabha, allowing Choudhary to succeed him as the first BJP chief minister.
Authorities deployed nearly 3000 personnel, including around 80 magistrates, to secure the high-profile event, while the cabinet now represents all five constituents of the National Democratic Alliance.
Nishant Kumar, son of Janata Dal leader Nitish Kumar, took oath as a minister, marking his official entry into politics after studying at the Birla Institute of Technology.
As a non-legislator, Nishant Kumar must secure a seat in the Legislative Assembly or Legislative Council within six months to retain his ministerial position.
