- On Friday, a 55-year-old man escaped unhurt after a moving train collided with his Honda car at the PWD railway crossing in Lagos State, leaving the vehicle extensively damaged.
- Following the collision, LASTMA officials and security personnel rescued the driver and removed the wrecked vehicle, allowing the train to resume its journey towards Agege.
- The vehicle, registration EKY 902 JT, was extensively damaged and effectively a complete write-off, although traffic congestion persisted around the PWD axis following the collision.
- General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki praised the coordinated response, noting that cooperation among agencies is vital when handling emergencies involving railway operations and adjoining roads.
- The agency stressed that "the preservation of human life must remain paramount in all road-use decisions," urging motorists to exercise caution when approaching railway crossings.
