F1: Madring track creator says changes by new designers affected overtaking at Spanish GP
Jarno Zaffelli told The Associated Press that relocated curbs, the selected tarmac and the latest F1 technical rules all played a part in the lack of action during Sunday’s race.
The original designer of the Madring circuit, widely criticized, has blamed small changes made after his company was removed from the project for the lack of advancements during this weekend’s disillusioned Spanish Grand Prix. He also stated that there is not “many” that can be done in the layout from now on.
If we don't count overtaking from the start and the first lap, there were only four overtakings at Sunday's race in Madrid. There weren't that few in Monte Carlo this year either.
