According to Hessen's CDU leader Boris Rhein, the AfD should not be excluded. The Prime Minister is opposed to the initiation of an AfD ban. The party must be fought politically, not legally.
Hessen's Prime Minister Rhein excludes a substantive cooperation with the AfD. However, in the eyes of the CDU head of state, the party should also be able to take over committee chairpersons at federal level.
According to Hesse's prime minister, the CDU should not prevent AfD committee chairmen in the Bundestag. One had to separate oneself from the party without excluding them.
So far, the AfD was empty in the election of committee chairmen in the Bundestag. That has to change, says CDU politician Boris Rhein.
