Latvia’s government ministries have begun outlining a series of proposed cost-cutting strategies aimed at easing pressure on the national budget. More than 250 suggestions have been submitted to the Ministry of Finance.
The main points of the proposal have to do with the consolidation of a special regime for imports, the exemption of employer pension contributions to new jobs and the reduction of VAT.The Executive Branch sent a bill to Parliament with measures to “mitigate disadvantages” that occur in border areas.
