Bomb Threat at Secondary School in Prince George Prompts Evacuation
Police evacuated staff and students as officers investigated the threat and asked the public to stay away while the case remains in its early stages.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Prince George RCMP evacuated DP Todd Secondary at 444 Hill Ave. following a reported bomb threat around 1 p.m.
Out of an abundance of caution, staff and students were evacuated from the building while police officers conducted their investigation, Cpl Jennifer Cooper, RCMP spokesperson for Northern B.C., said in the release.
Police requested the public stay out of the area surrounding the school so first responders could conduct their work safely, Cooper stated in the release.
Mounties reported the investigation remains in its early stages with many details yet to be determined, with further updates promised as they become available.
Threats to public safety, especially those involving schools, are taken very seriously by the RCMP, as Cooper emphasized in the official release.
