Bomb squad called for suspicious package at Doug LaMalfa’s Chico office

BUTTE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, JUL 17 – The suspicious package contained a white bag, a note, a candle, and loose powder, triggering a full bomb squad response and evacuation, officials said.

CHICO — The Butte County Interagency Bomb Squad squad dealt with a suspicious package outside of Rep. Doug LaMalfa’s office Thursday at Independence Circle. The scene, evacuated after the initial call, was declared safe, said Chico Police Department Lt.
