The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says a body believed to be that of a 51-year-old swimmer who went missing Sunday evening in Canandaigua Lake has been recovered.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit recovered a body from Canandaigua Lake this morning that investigators believe is the swimmer who went missing Sunday night.First responders searched the area with sonar-equipped boats and drones until after 10:30 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses told authorities they saw Patrick J. Colacino, 51, swimming in the lake around 8:41 p.m. but lost sight of him about five minutes later.

The body of a missing swimmer was recovered from Canandaigua Lake early Monday morning. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 51-year-old Patrick Colacino of Newark.
