The current account showed a deficit of 16.29 billion euros between January and July 2026, compared to 15.707 billion euros in the same period of the previous year, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) said on Tuesday.
BNR: Total external debt increased to EUR 234.87 billion in the period January-July 2026. The degree of coverage of short-term external debt was 91.4%, compared to 104.4%, on 31 December 2025.
